Congratulations, Camille!

This just in! Iris Camille Gutierrez, our very own grade 5 student from De La Salle Zobel, won their school elections for Grade 6 Representative! We are all very proud of this super studious and active girl!

It was a few weeks ago when Camille and I drafted her speech. We came up with a pretty cool acronym which I've forgotten. Hehe!

Anyway, congratulations again, our dearest Camilley!!

February First Saturday Prayer Meeting

First Saturday of the month rolled right by last February 3. It was nice cool evening and the full moon shone brightly.

Most of us gathered to pray the family rosary and to celebrate several birthdays! On the roster of celebrants this month: Lolo Ric, Tito Tony, Bettina, Ate Abigail, Tito Ned, and Brian. Lolo Ric hosted the prayer meeting and we partook in the yummy dishes Lola Nieves concocted!

Special guests present that evening were Lola Marie, Tito Frank, and Tita Alexi.

Batchmates Fonzie and Nichker enjoyed the time they spent playing (and screaming gleefully).

Tito Frank made the evening extra special by bringing his electrical guitar. Twas an impromptu jamming session!

Get Well Soon, Gibo!

The very energetic "bunso" of Tita Gina and Tito Ferdie is currently confined in the hospital. Gibo was diagnosed with Dengue. Tito Mar reports he's had the fever since early last week, but his blood tests only confirmed he caught Dengue late this week.

We continue to pray for Gibo's speedy recovery. Get well soon sweetie!

Yssa Bags the Bronze Medal!

Yssa placed third in the "Math-alinong Paligsahan" quiz bee at St. Scholastica's College Manila. The competition took place in the Ehrenthrudis Hall, today February 1, 2006. Contestants were students from Yssa's freshman batch.

Questions asked were mostly algebraic problems, word problems, and consecutive integers. Yssa was challenged with the problems concerning perimeters and dimensions. After three rounds, Tito Mar and Tita Alda's princess from Section 1-Initiative emerged third, thus capturing the Bronze medal.

Here's what Yssa had to say, "I'm happy!" When asked, "Kanino ka ba nagmana?" and she replied, "God-given talent yun!" She was awarded a certificate as well (Na mali yung spelling ng Tanquilut ('Tanguilut')).

We are so proud of Yssa! Congratulations!
