Holy Week 2007: Black Saturday
We started Black Saturday rather early... 12MN! Hehe. Right after the procession, all five vehicles were packed and headed to Angeles. Fontana baby! Despite being tired, most of us still had the energy for some merry drinking.
The boys were most certainly up to it.
Iya was up and charming everyone. Tita Marison in this picture doesn't seem to be all that charmed though. Iya just peed on her!
Kuya Ariel made the couch his territory.
Torres Family in in the house! We were all very glad Tito Lito could join us. Drinking session A was in the first Villa with Tito Rolly, Tito Ferdie, Tito Lito, Kuya Jun, and Cha. We brought some of the left overs from Guagua and they were perfect pulutan.
Drinking session B was in the second villa, where most of the young ones were. We. Had. A. Rockin. Good. Time. Gelo was our mascot for the evening! We played several drinking games, including 31, the numbers game, the questions game, and the classic never have I ever. Our favorite Gelo moment was when Sheryl asked him, "Gwapo ka ba Gelo?". To which he answered, "Oo. Bakit?"
After two solid hours of pee-in-your-pants fun, we finally called it a night. It's amazing how all ten boys fit in one of the bedrooms.
Tita Alda prepared our breakfast a few hours later. On the menu... scrambled eggs, corned beef, and tocino. Yummy! Complete with coffee and hot chocolate of course.
After a round of "Will you be swimming?", most of us prepared to hit the Fontana water park. Woohooo! A fancy golf cart brought us to the pool area.
Fonzie sported this cute black and pink trunks. He loved the water. And so did the rest of us water babies. We jumped up and down in the wave pool, lazed around in the lazy river, and gleefully screamed while gliding down the water slides. Sarap!
A little past one, we all headed back to the villa for some lunch. On the menu then was inihaw na liempo and Tita Marison's ginataang hipon. Tsalap....
As much as I wanted a tan, the sunblock we put on was apparently very effective. Hehe. Didn't get a tan, but had a fun fun time!
In the afternoon, Tita Alda and I combined forces to make the merienda. Carbonara for 40 peeps! Cooking 2 kilos of pasta for more than 30 people was no simple feat. My favorite cooking moment was when Tita Myrna anxiously waited for the first batch of spaghetti noodles to cook. Tita Alda said, "Ate, kung pede lang ako bumuga ng apoy." Haha. I made a discovery though! You can actually cook a lot of things in a rice cooker besides rice! More than half of the Fontana crew left for Manila. Those who remained... Tito Mar's family, Edrick, Pao, Mark S. and G., the Yaps, Tetet, and me.
That evening, we had pizza from the "night market". P160 bucks and the pizza was actually pretty good. I thought four pizzas would be too much... but thirty minutes and four empty boxes later, I knew I was wrong.
