Tanquilut Christmas Party
As we did exactly twenty years ago, the Tanquiluts and some Aguirres convened in the Geocaniga residence in Paranaque, to celebrate Christmas 2006. On the menu this year (just like several years before) Kare Kare, Lengua, Manok ni Manong, Beef with Ampalaya, Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu, Fruit Salad, and Buko Pandan.
Change costume kaagad si Lola Juling just before the other guests arrive. Her beautiful pink top is courtesy of Tita Marison!
We were all introduced to Sheryl's new born, the very cute and cuddly Zhaira Shanti Isabel Yap. She and older brother Vaughn, who was sporting a new do, get along just fine.
What would a Christmas party be without the traditional family pictorial? Talagang sanay na sanay na sa family pictorial ang mga peeps. It was one family after another.
We tried to squeeze in all the male grand kids in one picture.
Then it was the ladies' turn.
Another fun activity was the Tanquilut/Aguirre Pinoy Genio. Tito Ferdie struggled to name the infamous King of Pop named Michael that Lester had to shout "Jackson". Then there's Chacha who got most of the babaero titos in trouble by calling out their names. Erick was initiated as well and had to guess "Cabuyao, Laguna". Milet gave him a clue, "Nanggaling ka na dito Kuya!", to which Erick replied, "Mystique?!"
One of the highly anticipated activities in the evening was the Bad Santa exchange gifts. If caps and a walkman were last year's hot items, on this year's must have gifts are ... FHM Magazine from Tetet (which first went to Lola! Check out her reaction. Then to Tito Mar, then to the last owner... Gibo!), Cellphone loads from the Esguerra family, and a nice gel watch from Tito Boy.
Shooters in the house! The bottle of Jose Cuervo ran out before anyone could say "Tequilla".
Some of us spoke to Tita Cion and Ate Lheng who called to say hello. Tita Guste was reassuring her not to cry. And Tenten (daks me) happily told Ate Lheng, "Ok lang yan Ate! I-iyak mo lang yan! Para masarap tulog mo mamayang gabi." Just kidding Ate!
The party lasted way past midnight and the last people who left the house were Tito Mar, Tita Alda, Yssa, and Kuya Ariel.
Shout outs to those who are overseas! Ate Gret, Ate Svet, Jojo, Meg, Rico, Edward, Ate Lheng, Tita Linda, Uncle De, Tita Cion, Tito Ben, Aileen, Chris, Noel, Kuya Beng, and Judy! We miss you guys! Hope you had a fun Christmas!
