Bohol and Cebu Adventure, Part 3B
First of all, let me start by saying... Before, I didn't know what the big fuss about Shangri-la Mactan was all about. So what? It's a Shangri-La hotel. Big deal. I've seen the one in Makati and the one in Edsa. How different can this one be? And I must say... this Shangri-La hotel. Just. Blew. Me. Away. I think this is the best hotel in the Philippines! You can quote me on that! The Tripadvisor website gave this hotel a 4/5 rating. Nice!
Our real agenda for our Shangri-La Mactan visit was this - to respond to the call of nature! Hindi number 2 ha! Hehehe! Here's me taking a picture of myself in front of the bathroom mirror. Hehe! The airconditioned rest rooms was a pleasant change from the very very hot weather outside.
With Erwin's urging, we explored the grounds of the fabulous hotel. Nanay had to make the occasional rest stops. This pic below is a view of the hotel. There were abundant flower beds all over the place. The restaurants were also cleverly situated in nice parts of the hotel. There was this Zen-ish resto just by the beach (Fine dining).
In the event some hotel staff asked us tourists what we were doing in the hotel, we concocted this story just in case: Lola Naty is about to get married to a wealthy Cebu haciendero (descendant of the great Sergio Osmena!) and we were conducting an ocular of possible wedding venues! The story just ended up being a funny joke we all talked about. Here's a pic of us inside the very idyllic chapel located within the hotel grounds (pic on the left side). The other pic is of us hanging out by the wooden bench overlooking the ocean. Perfecto!
I really like this picture we took (Geocaniga family), right outside the chapel. Yes. We do wish to revisit this chapel someday... Walk down the aisle, exchange vows with the ocean as the backdrop. Sounds absolutely dreamy... and expensive!
We walked further down to the beach area. Hidden behind some palm trees was this massage place (See pic with Tita Marison and Lola Juling). The beach seems to be the perfect setting for a relaxing massage. Down the beach, there were lounge chairs where some of the hotel guests (mostly foreigners) were sunbathing. No pics of topless chicks here, though! Sowee boys!
